I can't say I was blown away by this musical movie. It certainly includes less musical numbers than it should, but the fact is that the cast is not top Broadway quality, which basically means maybe it's a good thing that this wasn't as musically as it should have been. I don't feel that this was Alan Menken at he's finest. The thing is that I found the story pretty interesting but sadly I was disappointed by this approach to the story. Still I do believe there's some quality in this 90s film musical.
I really struggle to express what I feel about this movie. "Call Me By Your Name" is a piece of art, it's the love child of Andre Aciman, Luca Guadagnino and James Ivory. It was made with so much love and respect to the original story that it really would have been impossible to fail. Guadagnino is a master of cinema, every single frame, every single scene was as it should have been, everything was beautiful. Timothée Chalamet is gonna be…
For an unexpected reason I liked this retelling of the classic fairytale and its Christmas spin. It was fun and felt fresh, sure it was full of cringe but then again Christmas is all about that cringe. It's filled with joy and with the wonder of the season. It was a fun little movie
