    How Do You Know


    Terrible in many ways, but it's too weird to hate. Owen Wilson saves it from becoming a total fiasco. He's very funny here. The budget was $120 million, which is the most distressing and hilarious piece of movie trivia I've come across in a long time. Is this the Heaven's Gate for an era of romantic dramedies? I don't think that idea will hold up to much scrutiny but I'm gonna go around trying to make it stick anyway

    Watching this movie alert so many more people to the fact that Kelly Reichardt belongs in the best living filmmaker conversation has been so gratifying and exciting, I loved it long before I saw it. I'm clearly biased as hell but it's my second favorite of hers, after Certain Women. Usually when ppl try to make a movie "about America" the whole thing crumbles under the weight of that ambition.
