Third watch this year, I needed to watch something which would make me feel as happy as possible and this hit the spot.
I have so much love for this film. The jokes feel fresh and uncliched, both the leads have perfect timing, the action sequences are slick, Mark Mothersbaugh's soundtrack is excellent. I feel like a lot of love has gone into every aspect into what should have been a pretty passable reboot.
The more I watch this, the more I become invested in the central bromance. After all the struggles are overcome, I find myself punching my fist at the line "I fucking cherish you", I'm really rooting for these guys.
If you haven't seen it yet, or you have any doubts, I plead you to watch this. It just got added on Netflix. Go on.
