A bitter, antisocial marvel. Short story-like in its structure and getting-to-the-point-ness and impeccably acted by Cooke, Taylor-Joy and Yelchin (who enters the film like a lightning bolt). Breathtaking conclusion.
America's Filmmaker is not slowing down.
A lot will be said about how precisely timed to current issues this movie is and though this is true (and shouldn't surprise us from a filmmaker who had so much about racism and da police pegged 30 years ago) I hope it doesn't go unnoticed how well Spike Lee's penchant for making five different movies and part of play to tell a story when one movie would have sufficed serves him here.…
