    Blinded by the Light

    ★★½

There’s so much going on yet there’s still little substance for everything. Overall, too long for its own good.

  • Under the Silver Lake

    Under the Silver Lake

    ★★½

Hold up, trying to find the subliminal message hidden within this film that says why it’s worth watching.

“Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.” Has become my new favourite quote.

  • Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    ★★½

As much as I love Tarantino’s other work, this did not do much for me.

I feel like everything from the cast with great acting, great music, and great camera work, were all under-utilised by a plot which felt very empty. The entire plot builds up to practically nothing but a Tarantino style finale which does not feel worth the 2.5 hour wait.
The editing is what really took me out for the most part. Scenes felt so misplaced that…

  • Hereditary

    Hereditary

    ★★½

The first half of this film is pretty good, I personally wished it stayed like that throughout, but the second half completely lost me with all the spirtitul stuff. Everyone saying that this is a true “psychological horror” are wrong. This first half is, the second half is just straight up spiritual.

And I still do not see how people found this “terrifying,” and “utterly disturbing.” It does have some chilling parts in it, especially the decapitation scene, which is such a great scene and the best part of this film.

Is there a good film in this? Probably, but just not for me.

  • The Dead Don't Die

    The Dead Don't Die

    ★★½

    The wokest film of 2019.

  • Captain Marvel

    Captain Marvel

    ★★½

They deadass had a jukebox on that ship towards the end and didn’t use it to their advantage. Especially with all the fighting.
All the classic songs they could’ve used and they chose just “Just a Girl” to play out of nowhere.

  • Fargo

    Fargo

    ★★½

  • Pokémon Detective Pikachu

    Pokémon Detective Pikachu

    ★★½

After about 30 mins of this I SPY Pokémon movie, the entertainment value starts to dwindle.

Ryan Reynold’s Pikachu is the only redeeming character in this whole film. I honestly couldn’t remember everyone else’s name while writing this, let’s just say the Pokémon are the only ones caring for.
And speaking of writing, this features some cheesy and corny writing. I’d write a line down but forgot most of it by now. The plot is entertaining enough, nothing new or…

  • Happy Death Day 2U

    Happy Death Day 2U

    ★★½

Considering the first one put me to sleep, this one ends up on top.

But this just felt like an unnecessary sequel that just adds one thing to the plot in order to start a series/franchise. Jessica Rothes character “Tree” is once again the only important one while still not adding anything to her character for me to care about.

I want to say I hope this “franchise” dies after this one, but considering I gave them some money and…

  • Alita: Battle Angel

    Alita: Battle Angel

    ★★½

Right when you think it starts to get good, the next scene or piece of dialogue bring it back to its complete cheesiness.

They tried to fit too much story that it made the film way too long.

    - 💻 Stream worthy.
