My First Tarkovsky and wow what the-
Mirror was probably one of the most challenging experiences I’ve ever had watching a film. Not that it was graphic or disturbing or something, but that I simply couldn’t figure out the right questions to be asking as I watched. I found myself constantly asking “are the black and white sections the dreams or are the color sections the dreams?”. I also was always questioning “is this the husband as a kid?” and questions of that sort all the time and only realizing towards the end that was not the right question to be asking. I would be lying though if I told you I didn't check the runtime every 20 minutes or so, recommend watching with a cup of coffee.
All in all, Mirror demands multiple viewings. At least two, but I get the feeling that I’ll have to watch this one many more times to satisfyingly understand it.
