Edward Giles Hacking’s review published on Letterboxd :
On the other end of the spectrum is this almost darkly comic tale of loss and grief. Casey Affleck was extremely deserving of his Oscar for his minimalist performance portraying a husk of a man. It’s moving and very compelling. Kenneth Lonergan does a fantastic job at the helm, having produced an air tight, slow placed script and his subtle direction work in unison together to create a bleak and very real world for its characters.
