A pretty strange mix of period piece romantic melodrama and funhouse scare fest ghost movie. It's pretty decent at each, not super riveting, but engaging enough. Some of the scares and makeup effects look pretty cool, some of the effects look cheesy as fuck. It's kind of like two different movies that get tied together with a good ol' twist ending. I kind of want to like this more, but it feels like it would've been better off leaning more into one of these elements than trying to mash them together.
