Lucky ★★★★

It was pretty clear early on that the metaphor and message were more important than the literal story, regardless of whether or not there ended up being an in-universe explanation. I’m not sure how much I like the ending, as it feels kinda anticlimactic and doesn’t really add a whole lot more to the conversation. The message is crystal clear, but it’s crystal clear by at least the mid point, so I would have liked something more to bring it all together by the end or something.

That said, the performances and direction are stellar and it’s one of the most original horror movies I’ve seen in a while. I can see it being divisive, but aside from the aforementioned nitpicks I really liked it.
