Is it just me, or do satanists seem to have the best film orgies?

And I must say, after viewing Satan’s Blood, Spanish satanic orgies are the best satanic orgies.

    Why?

    1. Their orgies come after (what looks to be) a very relaxing, fully nude group massage
    2. The massage lotions are stored in a hollowed out human skull and you must dig it out with your fingers

It’s the little things Spanish satanists do to make you feel comfortable, y’know?

Brandon Cronenberg is working some things out.

His latest focuses on an author named James (Skarsgard), who’s on vacation with his wife at an exclusive, 1%’ers resort in the fictional country of Li Tolqa. James has a wicked case of writer’s block, a wife who derives pleasure from roasting him in front of strangers, and a rather sizable inferiority complex. He finds himself something like a muse in Gabi (Goth, who continues her hot streak) at the resort and things…

So there’s a cabal of individuals whose only function is to gas light those who develop superhuman abilities? If needed, they’ll also wipe them out to ensure society remains in the dark, clueless to our ultimate potential? And this clandestine group seems to be comprised of foodies (I assume) who like to meet in high-end restaurants?!

Glass is the most Brad Bird movie never to be written and directed by Bird himself.

"I keep my fith fath and hard"

                      — Mike Tyson as Briggs

I was into this one until the 20 minute climactic battle between Sloane (Moussi) and Mongkut (Bjornsson, AKA The Mountain from GOT). Moussi can be a dynamic martial artist, which he proves in several unbroken action set pieces early on in the film, but when paired against Bjornsson he’s hung out to dry. While he’s impressively massive, Bjornsson has…

Do you see any Teletubbies in here? Do you see a slender plastic tag clipped to my shirt with my name printed on it? Do you see a little Asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside on a mechanical helicopter that shakes when you put quarters in it? No? Well, that's what you see at a toy store. And you must think you're in a toy store, because you're here shopping for an infant named Jeb.…

    Split

    ★★★

Split serves as a considerable reminder that empathy can be found in even the most monstrous places.

And it doesn’t matter how many times I see it, I will always get chills when James Newton Howard’s Unbreakable theme starts to play at the end. Dreams do come true.

The “Kayne is my main man” line didn’t age well though. Admittedly, Kevin Wendell Crumb has issues but I doubt even he would be a Kayne fan at this point
