Raw is a kaleidoscopic nightmare, overflowing with colorful visuals and some moments of stunning cinematography that reel you in, just before assaulting the eyes with its benchmark test of indelicacy. There's a haunting beauty that permeates Raw- mixing in Cronebergian body horror with a delicate metaphor of sexuality, while retaining a distinct flavor all of its own. It's one of the best surprises of the year, quite literally coming out of nowhere for me, and an experience I'll be more than glad to revisit, if only to marvel at its entrancing repulsiveness.
