Hilarious, pertinent, smart and competent.
I've been trying to catch up on films that I've missed which people consider classics. I don't know what put me off watching Being John Malkovich for so long, but whatever it was, I now regret it greatly.
The writing is incredibly inventive and original. The basic premise is that a puppeteer finds a gap in the conscience of fairly famous actor, John Malkovich, and seeks to lose himself in, and immerse himself in Malkovich's physical mind and body. Pretty much clichéd at this point eh? Cusack is the perfect vehicle for this inquisitive protagonist too.
