I was speechless. And that’s not just me being hyperbolic, I really was speechless. I stayed still in my seat for a good minute after it was done because it was mesmerizing... believe everything you’ve heard about it. Shaka King’s grasp of the material is so powerful, he delivered the most compelling story without compromising its integrity. I just wish we got to delve more into the characters’ “Judas” and “Messiah” psyches but that’s only because the performances were so good I wanted more. Other than that I have no other grievances. I think Shaka King is a visionary, and Lakeith Stanfield and Daniel Kaluuya are generational talents.
Can someone figure out how to give BOTH Lakeith and Daniel the Academy Award?!
