Like most of Kelly Reichardt's work, this film is beautifully simple and human. Reichardt really places character above plot, and when you have such a wonderful cast led by the amazing Michelle Williams what more could you want. I like how despite the seeming simplicity of the film, when the finale occurs there is a surprising amount of underlying tension, as we have seen how all these characters interact and now that they're all in the same room it is fascinating to see how that plays out. Overall, this film is so wonderful, it's cozy and it is easy to fall in love with these characters, flaws and all, and watch them create their art.
