Too many critics had compared this to Cronenberg, which sky rocketed my expectations. It's nowhere near as great as anything Cronenberg has done. It's not bad but putting it along side the body horror master hasn't done it any favours.

For me the thing that makes it so great is it sheer style! It looks stunning. Even though it's set in the future…
WOW! I'm in love with this film. I've had in on my shelf for months and months but the sheer length of this movie held me back. Since becoming a father i rarely get to watch a whole film in one sitting so knew it had to be a special day for me to watch this 4 hour epic movie. I don't shit my pants easily and I always try to get the most out of a scary film by turning the lights off and turning the surround sound on high and in this instance I definitely shit my pants.
Harry Potter is actually a lot better in it than i thought and i found the film better than the book, which rarely happens. I didn't like the end scene though. I would've been happier if the woman in black got her way.
I read recently that they're filming a sequel...bring it on Hammer!
