HARRYPerry13’s review published on Letterboxd:
World building is amazing.
Cinematography is unique.
Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford.
Ending is actually quite good, but completely out of nowhere. Requires plagiarism to specify what should be implicit.
Everything else total flop. Whole thing felt pointless. Open ended stories are amazing but this struggles to make it actually mean anything. Except the last 10 minutes. All spectacle no substance. Trying to ask the "big questions" that have no answer. But either answer adds no value, no character.
This movie was way over hyped for me.
{EDIT}
After seeing Blade Runner 2049 this film is extremely elevated for me. Up to 3 stars (but really that just speaks to the power of 2049). But the themes of humanity and choice stood out to me a lot more.
