My favorite thing I've seen by Varda thus far (although it hasn't been much). The severe lack of suspense and dedication to presenting a realistic character from many points of view made for an absolutely enthralling experience. The cinematography was stunning as was the lead performance. The inevitability of the main character's fate really worked and almost became irrelevant. This isn't a tragedy as much as a portrait of someone living and dying on their own terms. As much as they were pushed away, they were offered help as well, but Mona had plans of her own.
