  this is actually a movie that i think warrants a modern remake … it’s not bad by any means but it’s definitely aged. you could do something seriously interesting with this plot with modern film techniques

  very sweet, sentimental story with some very pretty cinematography 

  kinda reminded me of the book kitchen by banana yoshimoto as it covers a lot of very similar themes (which i will recommend to anyone who likes this film)
