Hayden Welch’s review published on Letterboxd:
BELLEZA Y SERENIDAD EN EL CORAZÓN DE MÉXICO
One of the most deeply tender and universally loving films I’ve seen. It delves into this beautiful and horrifying and exciting road-stop in everyone’s life. An anxious, reckless, and unforgettable moment bridging the gap between idealistic adulthood and the slow weening off of childhood. It’s this inspiring adventure that demonstrates that life is something, not only worthy of, but must be shared. Everything is interconnected, everything has a story, and every story is worth telling. It’s a film that reminds you to take a break and cherish memories, through this soft and sensual light. Everything about Y Tu Mamá También is oozing with love and life, and that’s something that prevails through political and familial unrest, youth still prevails, love still prevails, and capturing that is an extremely special thing.
Life is like the foam of the sea. You must dive into it.
