This film is so beautiful.

I had heard this film was called 'cold', which seems pretty unfair. Carol isn't so much cold, but restrained, longing passion. The chilliness very much suits the period of the 50s and the reality of their relationship in the surroundings in which the two find themselves. Both Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are stellar; their performances undoubtedly career bests. I didn't love this movie when I watched it, but I have a feeling I might love it more the second time I see it.
