Sunset Boulevard ★★★★★

Maybe the greatest Film-Noir of all time? I don't know. There's a lot of GREAT Film-Noirs out there! Just the meta-aspects that Billy Wilder imbued this thing with rates 5 stars alone. You've got a silent film star playing a silent star and then you've got Eric von Stroheim playing a former director turned man servent (who directed Gloria Swanson in Queen Kelly, which they watch at one point). Then you've got the cameos by Cecil B. DeMille, Hedda Hopper and Buster Keaton. It's just mind blowing! I've seen this like four times in the theater now and it just gets better each time. DCP
