People are so mixed about this movie that my expectations weren't very high. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I adored it. I, like apparently a lot of other people, thought it was very Wes Anderson-y, but since I have an undying love for Wes Anderson this just made me like it more. It was funny, it was sweet, it was sobering, the performances were stellar, and the colors were beautiful.
Why more people don't love this movie is beyond me. I saw it in the theater when I was in high school and remember how terrified my friends and I were. Watching it 10 years later for the 3rd or 4th time, the jump scares are obviously no longer effective since I know when everything is going to happen, but it still gives me so much anxiety the entire time.
