The original Among Us and Childs is acting kinda sus.
Jokes aside this is a masterpiece and one of the best horror films of all time.
I do not think this is Kurosawa’s best work, but I do believe it is his most intimate and personal. Even towards the end of his career Kurosawa manages to make a film about his own dreams and capture the strange vibe and happenings of the dream world at the same time as he manages to get a lot of emotion packed in there as well. To think that he was basically blind while making one of the most gorgeous films of all time also proves what a master he was.
An Elephant Sitting Still is a 4 hour long, dark, bleak and slow ride, but it’s also one of the most heartfelt and beautiful films I’ve seen. It’s astonishingly well shot and staged where even in scenes where there’s just two people talking you can’t take your eyes off the screen. I was deeply saddened to learn about Hu Bo’s death in the end credits, as I was very excited to see what more he had in store.
This film is a Masterpiece, Rest In Peace Hu Bo.
