Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive ★★★★★

It'll be just like in the movies. Pretending to be somebody else

This is my favorite David Lynch film. I rewatched this on Criterion and watched most of the supplements except the last three interviews (I watched the Naomi Watts/David Lynch one). I learned that Mulholland Drive was supposed to originally be the name of a Twin Peaks spin-off and the feel of this film was very much Twin Peaks, and I loved it.

This film feels very dream-like, atmospheric, has perfect sound design, cinematography on point (shot on celluloid), phenomenal acting. When I first saw this, I said that Naomi Watts gives one of my favorite performances of all-time, and I still stand by that. Unbelievable how she didn't even get an Oscar nom for this performance. Her performance is so fucking good.

Sidenote: Spotted 2 actors from the tv show Lost (Jacob and Dharma Initiative worker).
