It took me ten years to finally watch this. John Woo has said that "Lawrence of Arabia" is one of his favorite films. This is Woo making his epic.

Lana Turner stars in this melodrama as Lily James who moves from a small town in Kansas to Manhattan to try to make it as a model and subsequently falls for a married man. The Criterion Channel has set up several films from her works. Not bad.

Watching the Criterion blu ray of this film almost made me feel like I was back in the theater in 1991 watching it for the first time. It looks amazing! We know about the great cast and Demme as director but man oh man that script. Wow! All of these things together no wonder it swept at the Oscars!
