Mind blowing third act. Kinda surprised this is Iñárritu’s highest rated filmed on Letterboxd…

Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively have incredible chemistry, the story as a whole was pretty mid though.

Ang Lee captures a mood that is palpable and quite erotic. The terrific cast turns out a plethora of memorable scenes that linger inside my brain weeks after the films conclusion.

The editing during the combat scenes are lackluster at best, the villain is mid, and Katie Holmes…good Christ.
I really love the casting for Bruce’s father, I wish he had a couple more scenes. Also, Scarecrow getting “a taste of his own medicine” is beyond badass.
I was considering giving this a C+, but overall it lays the ground work for what’s to come rather nicely.

I really respect what Ridley Scott was going for here, I think the ultimate failure was casting Orlando Bloom. The rest of the supporting cast is phenomenal, especially Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson.
I will definitely watch this again in the future, but at least I can keep my expectations tempered a bit. Considering the extended runtime, I was hoping for a masterpiece.
It sucks movies like this (and ‘The Last Duel’) bomb at the box office because this part of history is interesting as all hell.

I thought this fucker would wrap around ep 3, but this shit went places I didn’t expect. There are a few “weaker” episodes, but overall I recommend.
