no 2023 film is more perfectly tailored to my interests than this luxuriant period drama about french gastronomes cooking unfeasibly delicious meals in a dazzling display of unspoken expertise. a sublime portrayal of artistry and respect as dual acts of love.

a real act of cowardice to give coriolanus snow dark eyebrows instead of bleaching them like hunter schafer's. anyway, fun movie but not as interesting - either politically or emotionally - as the originals. jennifer lawrence still unmatched i fear.

barry keoghan makes such an unconvincing 18-year-old that i kept wondering if his character would turn out to be a 30-year-old scammer. regrettably that's only the tenth worst detail in this infuriatingly stupid Wattpad edition of The Talented Mr Ripley, filmed like a faux-vintage Abercrombie commercial.

the main thing Saltburn says about the british class system is that if you're posh and well-connected, you can attract a ton of money, brilliant actors and undeserved buzz for your half-baked nonsense, while more talented filmmakers continue to languish in obscurity.

understands the vintage hollywood rule that all you really need to make a good movie is hot people being funny.
