Hendo (The Movie Journey)’s review published on Letterboxd:
Taken from my 'Bottom ten worst movies of 2016' list:
I'm not angry, i'm just disappointed. What was arguably the most anticipated movie of 2016 turned out to be complete letdown. Incredibly choppy and all over the place, leaving plotlines by the wayside and not explaining certain key elements, the movie tries too hard to set up future movies it doesn't even deserve yet, dedicating time consuming scenes involving characters only the die hardiest of DC fans would gush over, let alone even understand.
The 'title fight' is too brief and has a laughable conclusion, and the movie leaves plot holes all over the place. But the worst of all is the final half an hour of the movie, featuring some abysmal CGI monster battle you would see in a transformers movie. I was in awe at how much of a train wreck this was.
I will try to leave on some positives. Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman were the standouts, and played their respective roles well. And the penultimate fight in an abandoned warehouse was really good. But that's it. Avoid.
