Henry’s review published on Letterboxd:
Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead manages to combine every zombie movie trope with every heist movie trope to create a film that falls short in the long run, big emphasis on the word long. Like most of Snyder’s films this was trying to do way too much and ultimately made it much longer than it needed to be. There are a lot of unnecessary boring scenes that easily could’ve been cut to make this a more appropriate length. The thing that saved me from not liking this at all and instead landing somewhere in the middle ground was just how silly it was. When Snyder is able to just embrace the goofiness and do crazy things like zombie tigers that’s when I find his work the most enjoyable. As far as summer block busters go there have definitely been worse so I guess I can’t complain too much.
