    Damn now this is just excellent filmmaking. Right from the opening too. The camerawork here & the way it was used to show such a unique perspective. The imagery used throughout this was astounding too. Overall, I was in tears by the end. I’m so grateful I got to experience this.

    Despite agreeing with the consensus that this was an overall disappointing film, it’s still a decent time. 

    I got to this relatively late so I had seen a lot of the negative ratings. Despite that, I still had relatively high hopes. But this was just okay. Reynolds gives his typically fun performance, Walker Scobell was awesome as young Adam, & I’ll never complain about Mark Ruffalo.

    I first watched this a few years ago & remember loving it/smashing the 5 star button but I had also consumed a copious amount of wine that night so I’ve been curious to rewatch this in a different setting.

    Damn what an ending. That got me good. I was also really impressed with the use of lighting + shadows & fire as a sort of visual component of the mystery at times. And the performances here also helped carry the mystery but I particularly enjoyed Strathairn & Jenkins’ work here. Wouldn’t have argued against more Dafoe screentime either.
