I saw this at home back around the time it first came out & I loved it so I had been curious to see if this would hold up on rewatch. All I remembered was the insane amount of tension in this.

And that for the most part held true on rewatch. It did feel like there were some lulls in this, mainly in the first half, as the tension built up. The music in this was really good though & the…

I was a fan of her first special so I loved that she upped the ante for this one. In particular, I was impressed with her use of callbacks in her first special and those were even more phenomenal in her follow-up. Loved the revolving door all-star supporting cast Wes Anderson always has too (was not expecting to see Jude Law in this). Dug the nod to Shawshank Redemption too.

Overall, not my favorite Wes Anderson film…

I was shocked when I watched this this past Friday & liked it a lot then got on LB a couple days later to discover I was one of the few that did lol. Maybe I’m too easy to please but I thought this was really entertaining. Reminded me a lot of the show Maniac (one I liked a lot when it first came out & have been meaning to revisit).

The soundtrack choices in this were spectacular, especially in the first…
