Kristen Bell as teenage detective Veronica Mars was my first crush on a fictional character. I followed her career ever since. I don‘t like most of her romantic comedies and I thought I would see one here, but that wasn‘t the case. Like Father is an honest piece on reconciling with the past to move forward in the present and the future. It sells some simple truths and most of them aren‘t very new. The movie is not groundbreaking in any way, but I love to seen Kristen Bell in this role (not as much as in the role of Eleanor Shellstrop in The Good Place, but way more than in her role as Cynthia Smith in the spineless Couples Retreat). Like Father served me well as balm for a minor hangover.
