Herrvonspeck’s review published on Letterboxd :
Mad Max: Fury Road is the most remarkable movie of the 21st century. I have seen this film about 10 times and it still holds up. It is a densely constructed tale featuring feminist and socialist criticism of societal structures barely hidden in a 2-hour-long action sequence. There is no other movie that depicts toxic masculinity and capitalism as a stupid, destructive religion this effective. Using action as a delivery mechanism for these ideas makes it all the more appealing, because it reaches a different audience than most movies which deal with these topics.
Miller and Sixel carved this gem out of years of production hell. It is a miracle they brought back a movie at all. Mad Max: Fury Road is an impossible movie and yet there it is. Shiny and chrome. We need it.
