After all this time.
I did it.
I watched Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai"!
Actually, I've seen a few of his films in the past, and to be honest, I've been rather let down. With this film though, I'm finally able to see the true greatness of Kurosawa!
The acting, cinematography, editing, directing and pretty much every other aspect is spot on! The astonishing factor is how the humor, the dialog and the all around confrontations of the characters still feels fresh, like it could've been made yesterday! I watched the 207 minuter version, and I feel like the length of the film is what really made this better than the other Kurosawa works I've witnessed. You actually watch the characters grow, and establish relationships in the most realistic and relatable ways.
"Harakiri" is probably still my favorite samurai film, but this is not far behind!
