I didn't like it as much as I wanted to. Firstly, James Franco gives the best performance of the year. Hands down. The movie is based around this performance, and to a certain extent, he's able to carry it. However, I thought they could've done more. I mean it still felt like a pretty formulaic marvel movie. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that and this movie was a lot of fun with a great sense of humor and excellent cast. But it’s still preety formulaic, and considering the cast and that amazing first trailer I was a little disappointed by that. Still, this is what a popcorn movie should be and it succeeds where it needs to succeed, I just wish it had been more than it needed to be.

This film unlike Wright's other films (all of which being some of he best I've ever seen) while still being heavily comedic, is a straight up action film. And that being said, not only is it one of the greatest action films I've ever seen, it's one of the best films I've ever seen period. I plan on seeing it countless more times when it's released a month from now, and when it comes out on bluray I'll end up buying 6 copies. Why? Because I'll have seen the film so many times I will have literally distroyed 5 copies.

Surprisingly good, as someone who has been for the most part disinterested in the superhero genre on all fronts, this film was a lot of fun.
