Black Christmas ★★★½

You know that Holiday classic A Christmas Story? Well before director Bob Clark created that warm and fuzzy film, he made this one - a seventies slasher film about a maniac hunting co-eds during...wait for it...Christmas. There is a lot of clever camera work interspersed between the sex references and binge drinking, which are staples for the 70’s slasher. Clark keeps most of the gore at a minimum, choosing instead to film the film with slow POV shots of the killer stalking his/her pray.
Starring Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey, John Saxon and that dude Hal didn’t like much in 2001 (Kier Dullea), this is certainly a departure from the cozy comfort of Rudolph and friends.
