Higgins’s review published on Letterboxd:
Brightburn is a story about what would happen if Superman was an evil ass hat instead of mr. Goody two shoes. Now, to be clear, we are talking bloodlust, world killing kind of evil and not your run of the mill sinster plot for money evil. Like Supe, this story starts with two country bumpkins, played by Elizabeth Banks and David Denman, who find a baby in the wreckage of a space ship. Sound familiar?
What transpires is an anti-hero horror thriller that is light on acting but a bunch of fun. Brightburn is also a perfectly timed, refreshing twist on the genre that breaks up the Marvel domination a bit.
