This film definitely kept the steam going for Stephen King adaptations in 2017.
We’re back on the Path of the Turtle for another Take Three Review of a Stephen King adaptation, this time heading into the sewers of Derry to take on IT. We’ve collected our very own Loser’s Club to venture into Andy Muschietti’s take on this classic novel, once again bringing three different viewpoints to the table: a recent reader/lover of only the novel, a die-hard fan of the 1990s miniseries, and our resident Stephen King über-fan of both the novel and miniseries.
Top 5 Things About Moana:
1. The Animation - It should come as no surprise that Disney Animation Studio, the half-twin-brother of Pixar, makes gorgeous movies. Moana takes it a step up with their focus on island landscapes and their beautiful rendering of water. It's a visual feast.
2. The Family Dynamic - Let's all take a moment to pause and relish in the fact that Disney not only made a movie where the main princess' parents are BOTH STILL…
Let's just put this out there, you should see this movie. There's so much to applaud with what Matt Reeves did with this film, it's hard to narrow it down to only 5, but since that's our MO here, we shall try.
1) The Visuals – If for no other reason than for the CG effects on the apes and the sprawling tracking shots, this is a movie worth seeing. Watching War for the Planet of the Apes kept reminding…
