there isn’t much about this that hasn’t already been said. bong joon-ho has created a masterpiece here and portrays class struggles in a way that feels scathing and fresh. it’ll win best foreign language film at the oscars undoubtedly and likely even get a best picture nom and a screenplay nom (major for south korea!). not only does it look fantastic, i think it’s some of the best writing i’ve seen all year. no matter what this family does, you’re rooting for them hard the whole time. bong has never been better.
