The first 20 minutes are my favorite movie of the year, but A Simple Favor does suffer from some slight third act woes and I was worried that it would fall apart, but it never really does. Great performances from Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, and especially Blake Lively - who is a force and fan-fucking-tastic here. I think Blake’s performance is my favorite of the year and I’m already mad that there won’t be any Oscar consideration for her.
Kudos to Paul Feig for trying something different and succeeding with a damn good movie.
