I wanted to watch Killers of the Flower Moon on the day of its premiere, but somehow I recently haven't had much time or desire to sit in the cinema for almost 4 hours. Today I've finally seen it and I must admit - it's a masterful work.

Killers of the Flower Moon is about what our civilization is built on, so betrayals, greed, corruption, spilled blood, theft. Scorsese takes a closer look at the Osage Nation, who discovered large…

David Lynch has already managed to accustom the audience to enigmatic nature as well as the unconventionality of his movies. His fans love this kind of originality, but there are also those who have ambivalent or even negative feelings. Although for a long time I haven’t known which of these groups I belong to, Mulholland Drive impressed me on so many levels that I am beginning to fear that to this former. David Lynch's movies are usually characterised by absurdity…

    Midsommar

    ★★½

I don't quite get this hype on Ari Aster's films. Hereditary as well as Midsommar, is inconsistent cinema; starts off with quite promising drama, and after a while it turns into mediocre horror movie. These films do not draw me into world filled with well-built atmosphere of anxiety. There is almost nothing here except shock value. After some time, even that doesn't work. So what is left is empty grotesque. Hereditary has one of the worst endings I've ever seen. Midsommar isn't…

    Decision to Leave

This is the script Hitchcock would write if he was somehow still alive. Unfortunately, there is a bit of a mess in storytelling, but I could watch shots from this movie for hours. The snow scene is visual miracle. Decision to Leave constantly escapes the clichés of typical crime story and expands itself by including other genres. Plus, very creative editing & brilliant use of focus. It's the first time I've seen something like that and considering how much influence Park…

Classic David Fincher. As usual, we get a film that is extremely perfected in technical aspect. This attention to detail is very impressive. Moreover, Fincher is current master of suspense. However, also as usual, there is no heart here. The Killer is within very tight, safe limits that Fincher never crosses, even for a moment. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this cold revenge of an aging Hitman. It's still one of the most perfect movies of the year. If you prefer engineering rather than art, you will be absolutely delighted.

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

As a guy who's fascinated about cinema & its history, I could not ignore this film. Yep, I've just seen Once Upon A Time in Hollywood for the first time. Who else but Quentin Tarantino could sum up the golden era of Hollywood? Let's be honest, there was no better candidate. Not because he is my favorite director or whatever, but just due to his whole persona; knowledge, passion and influence on cinema.

The title of this film obviously refers to…
