My Soul to Take ★★★

I wish I could have heard Wes Craven's elevator pitch for this because I swear I watched this dead sober and I still couldn't tell you what the movie is about. A serial killer suffering from schizophrenia (a killer who makes Freddy Krueger look like a choir boy) finally dies at the hands of the police, only for his various personalities to inhabit the souls of seven babies born the night of his death? But if you're a fan of Craven, you have to find your way here eventually—as the last film he wrote, it feels too discursive, auteurist, and flat-out weird to miss.
