This movie is just magical...
Nazi killing, cinema loving, ball shooting magic. It even has a Disney princess! Although Hans Landa is admittedly not the greatest role model your children should have.
It's incredible how stylish everyone in this movie is at any given moment.
Got hit in the face? -> Look at my perfectly fitting suit!
Crashed into a helicopter? -> My skintight turtleneck survived without a rip!
Burned half the face off? -> My mustache is the only thing people are looking at anyway!
Seriously though... That mustache was worth all that trouble around Justice League.
Nicolas Winding Refn is wrongly considered a good director by many. He is not a good, but might be, in fact, one of the most talented and misunderstood filmmakers in the industry. Nearly all of his movies in the last decade, namely The Neon Demon, Only God Forgives, Drive and Bronson, are packed with extraordinary emotional depth and pure love for his craft.
Drive might be his best film to date, but all of the others are in almost no way inferior.
Give this man the recognition he deserves!
