This series starts okay with a sprinkling of blandness and that's as good as it gets.
The characters? The stakes? The world? I just don't care.

So it turns out that James Wan's warning to "not expect The Conjuring; this is a very different beast" was an understatement.
While a lot of it didn't land for me, Wan knows EXACTLY what he's doing and I applaud him for being so bold.

A decent courtroom drama plagued by probably the worst original soundtrack I've ever heard. It's part silent movie, part Spanish soap opera.

I (somewhat controversially) find 2001 to be a remarkably cold film. While undeniably grand and operatic and impressive in a sensory way, it’s emotionally distant. I find the book a far more rewarding experience.
