Tenet ★★★½

Co-watched an SD stream of this on my TV with a friend in a text chat, fuck you Chris. As always Nolan’s complexity doesn’t go any deeper than logistics, and his attempt at a climate change message doesn’t really jibe with his reverence for the ultrawealthy security state currently propping up our suicidal social order, but I actually had more fun than I expected trying to puzzle out what the hell was supposed to be going on at any particular moment. Nevertheless, fuck Nolan not just for trying to lure people back into COVID-ridden moviehouses but for trying to premiere this incredibly silly film in a theatrical setting where audiences would have to sit quietly instead of riffing about how “Protagonist” is “going to start a tenets’ union” or whatever.
