Electric Dreams 1984
The Moroder/Oakey song is brilliant. The film, not so much.
It's weirdly directed in that it's like a bunch of '80s music videos cut together.
Obligatory THAT'S NOT HOW COMPUTERS WORK OH MY GOD comment,

Would You Rather 2012
If someone says "Would you rather watch this film, or watch something else instead?" you're probably better off going for the something else instead.

The Scarecrow 1920
The first half of this short film is amazing, a single-roomed house constantly transformed through Heath Robinson-esque contraptions (and mainly the pulling of strings). Worth watching for the invention, and the skill of operation.
The second half is standard slapstick fare.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi 2011
I don't eat sushi but after watching this film I really wanted to eat sushi.

Five Shaolin Masters 1974
Watching this immediately after Come Drink With Me, the contrast is striking. Of the two, this is the newer film, but it feels older. Directed by Chang Cheh, the staging in this film is of the much more traditional 'plonk the camera down and film the fighting' sort. There's none of the creativity or inventiveness found in Come Drink With Me to be found here.
This is not a bad thing, per se. More than anything else, it's a difference…

Happy Christmas 2014
This is a terrible movie. There's no plot, and it doesn't end so much as get abandoned. Everyone involved needs to take a good, long look in the mirror and think and what they've done.

A Monster Calls 2016
Adaptation of the novel by Patrick Ness. Overall strong, though school and bullying strand needed a little more work for it to have full impact. Rest of the film had full impact, though, as Conor struggles to cope with his mother's cancer. Lewis MacDougall had to carry to film pretty much by himself and he was outstanding, a hugely impressive achievement for an actor of his age.
