Main character gets irrational toward the end and keeps it from being something special, but it's a fun film all in all.

Not a good film aside from its incredible depiction of a bear mauling. Beautifully shot all around but really just a slow and shallow revenge tale, with obligatory finger wags to big bad colonialism. And Dicaprio is literally crawling on the ground wounded for most the film. It's astonishingly boring.
