Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey ★★★★

If you are not a fan or familiar with Downton Abbey then yes you might find this twee and melodramatic but the magic of Downton Abbey is that it tells a engaging, sweet story that covers all classes which is nicely wrapped up at the end.

Downton has transition nicely to film but then again it has been doing 'specials' for a few years now so it was safe to assume that they could sustain a longer story. Some of the storylines are rushed and saved by good writing and a forgiving audience but it touches on both LGBTQ history and royal history (it is centered around a royal visit) and balances it nicely.

The big houses of Yorkshire get to look good. Wentworth Woodhouse continuing to be the interior of choice for period dramas in the UK.
