  kris kristofferson as a good cyborg, lance henriksen as a bad cyborg vampire, and kathy long as a hero who might as well be a cyborg given her ability to fight for days on end without breaking a sweat. long should have been a star!

  It’s like 3 movies in 1 and I was here for all 3! I automatically have low expectations for Pennywise Skarsgard, and Barbarian used my expectations to line up a nice twist and awesome first scare. Talking with Krista afterwards it really is a smart way of illustrating 3 problematic dudes- serial killer/rapist (obvious!), entitled guy who doesn’t understand consent (totally!), and the nice guy. At first I was like, “They got me! Pennywise was just a normal, well-meaning dude,”…

  Watched 2x over 2 Sundays. I love this movie first for its exceptional cast, second for it being a very weird and original mainstream alien/monster pic; third for how Jordan Peele weaves in so many of his interests and inspirations- it gives his movies warmth and amps up the nerd excitement.  Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer are the perfect straight man/funny man duo; the dude playing Angel crushes; Steven Yeun adds unexpected weight. And to see Keith David! Rounding up to a full five stars cuz Jason is always wearing that Wipers tee they put on Angel.
