If Lightyear was canon, Andy's white suburban parents wouldn't have let him see a movie with POC, LGBTQ+ and/or feline characters in it. These people wouldn't even let their kids see it '22, let alone in '95.

If Lightyear was canon, Disney, greedy fucks that they are, would've immediately released a Sox toy in '95 and Andy would've had one in Toy Story.

How ironic is it that the character that gave birth to Pixar has also caused its demise.
