Hotpepper’s review published on Letterboxd:
Downton Abbey by Michael Engler is a film that felt very hollow to me. I never saw the show, but I've heard good things and I went into this with an open mind. This felt kind of like an elongated episode of a soap-opera with good production value. This film was incredibly boring to me. I know that is a bit of a subjective complaint, but it's just how I felt. The acting, sets, music, and overall production were great, but the script and story were really bad. The things that were done well kind of made the film worse. All of this effort was being put into this awful script. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen the show.
